Ferndale will be running two weeks of camps during the school summer holidays. Sessions will be on Tuesday the 26th, Wednesday the 27th and Thursday the 28th of July in the first week of the holidays and Tuesday the 2nd, Wednesday the 3rd and Thursday 4th of August. All sessions will run from 11am-2pm each day in the school.
The community club will run every Tuesday during the holidays at its usual time of 5-7 and in the Barn, so there are plenty of chances for Ferndale players to continue to play through the holidays.
History
Ferndale Table Tennis club was first established as a TTk Greenhouse academy in 2007. The academy was overseen by Welsh International player Stephen Gertsen he was at the academy for 3 and a half years and had great success during his time here. Then ex-Scottish Junior International player Scott Johnston who was assistant coach at old TTk school Tonypandy and had previously helped Stephen with his coaching duties at Ferndale took over. Scott was in the position for a year. Scott moved on but the club has again managed to get a new coach who is going to continue to allow the club to grow. Gwyn Carvill from Bridgend TT club has now taken over at the school and will hopefully use his knowledge of the game and links within welsh table tennis to help the club go from strength to strength.
