History

Ferndale Table Tennis club was first established as a TTk Greenhouse academy in 2007. The academy was overseen by Welsh International player Stephen Gertsen he was at the academy for 3 and a half years and had great success during his time here. Then ex-Scottish Junior International player Scott Johnston who was assistant coach at old TTk school Tonypandy and had previously helped Stephen with his coaching duties at Ferndale took over. Scott was in the position for a year. Scott moved on but the club has again managed to get a new coach who is going to continue to allow the club to grow. Gwyn Carvill from Bridgend TT club has now taken over at the school and will hopefully use his knowledge of the game and links within welsh table tennis to help the club go from strength to strength.

Cippenham Festival

Liam Winder was playing at the above mentioned competition at the weekend. In the Under 14 Main event Liam reached the last 16. In the Under 16's Liam had revenge over the player who beat him in the Under 14's 3-0 in the group stage. He qualified for the Consolation event and reached the quarter finals. In the Under 18's Liam reached the last 16 of the main event but met the number 1 seed and lost 3-2. Well Done Liam in a very busy competition.
